RoHS3 Statement (Certs available on an item by item basis)
Commission Delegated Directive (EU) 2015/863 of 31 March 2015 amending Annex II to Directive 2011/65/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the list of restricted substances listed below in electrical and electronic equipment. The (EU) 2015/863 (RoHS3) adds four phthalates to the existing RoHS restricted substances, to be restricted in 2019.
APW Can provide certificates upon request for specific items as follows;
Based on information provided by our suppliers APW Company Certifies that the products supplied to _______________________________ on or after the date of this certificate are RoHS3 Compliant.
RoHS3 compliant means that:
- Our suppliers have indicated they have confirmed the compliance status of the relevant products supplied to us.
- We have documentation to support their claims.
- We do NOT test materials for compliance.
This provides you with the assurance you need.
Confirmation of compliance status by our suppliers is either because the products do not contain any of the restricted substances outlined in the EU 2015/863 Directive at concentrations in excess of those permitted or because removal of the restricted substances is not technically possible and their existence in the products at levels in excess of these concentrations is allowed as one of the particular applications listed in the Annex to the RoHS3 Directive.
For these purposes, the maximum concentration values of the restricted substances by weight in homogenous materials are:
- Cadmium (Cd): 0.01%
- Mercury: 0.1%
- Lead (Pb): 0.1%
- Hexavalent chromium (Cr6+): 0.1%
- Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB): 0.1%
- Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE): 0.1%
- Bis(2-Ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP): 0.1% (added in 2015)
- Benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP): 0.1% (added in 2015)
- Dibutyl phthalate (DBP): 0.1% (added in 2015)
- Diisobutyl phthalate (DIP): 0.1% (added in 2015)
REACH Statement
In June 2007, the European Union Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) was first released. This RoHS3 and ReachRegulation establishes specific duties and obligations for companies in the European Union (EU) that manufacture or import substances on their own, in preparations, or in articles.
Under the structure of the REACH Regulation, APW Company is a manufacturer and supplier of “articles” to our EU customers. We do not manufacture or supply “substances” or “preparations” and our articles do not involve the “intentional release of substances”. Accordingly, we foresee no registration or pre-registration requirement for the products we supply unless your designs and materials should contain “substances” or “preparations” as listed in the latest REACH specification.
APW Company is constantly monitoring the substances of very high concern (SVHCs), as defined by REACH, in our products. This will be an on-going process as the list of items continues to expand within REACH. APW Company will also review your designs including material listed on your specifications to ensure they are in compliance with the latest REACH specification.
The customers are encouraged to visit the following site to get the most up to date information on current list of SVHCs under REACH:

APW Company products (articles) do not contain Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) above the threshold value declared as per ECHA
