Permanent Electromagnets

Permanent electromagnets have a permanent magnetic field, and when supplied with power, the magnetic field is turned off or more specifically neutralized. This is the opposite of standard electromagnets where power is required to hold and then when power is turned off the electromagnet releases. These electro-permanent magnets are sometimes reffered to as “latching” electromagnets. Permanent electromagnets are used when the magnetic field is required to work for extended periods of time, being in the holding state more than 50%, and turned off or neutralized infrequently and for very short periods. Unlike our standard electromagnets these units are offered in one simple configuration with encapsulation only due to their construction. (110VAC and 220VAC available by request)
